Ever since Google bought YouTube people have been wondering how they would monetize their purchase. As of late they’ve been talking about google ads in videos. They’ve now released the system and it’s time to play around with it.

My First imperssion is that it is not bad. The first video that played for me is one from Chris Pirillo which is completely relevant to this site. I find the image ad on the top of the player to be a bit annoying and distracting, but I guess that depends on the ad. The overlay ad at the bottom of the page is not that painful, its semi-transparent and you can close it if you so desire.
Thus far I think that google has done a good job at integrating ads with real content. This is not surprising as this is what google is known for, relevant ads. I only expect the videos to become more relevant as time goes on and more people choose to make money off their youtube videos.
