When you are an early adopter of technology there are a few things you need to know. One of those facts is that the technology you are buying is expensive. The other major fact is that it is going to be outdated quickly. Knowing these two facts going into buying anything technology wise you will save yourself some grief later.
Why might I mention this today? Well, Nokia just released the N95-3. This is the same phone that I got back in July but with the ability to access high speed networks in the US. Therefore on the AT&T networks you will get much better data speeds. My version of the phone is stuck on the EDGE network (same as the iPhone) getting somewhere less than 200kbps connections. With this next version the speeds should be bumped up to over a meg per second.
Am I bitter? Yes and No. I knew this was going to come, the phone is so great that it had to get some good data speeds in the US. I do wish that I waited a few months before picking up the phone, but as with all technology as soon as you buy it the sucker is out of date.
I currently have no plans on getting rid of my current phone. That is unless someone offers me some money for it; I might sell it to be able to get this one. The odds of that happening are rather slim though. I am still happy that I got the N95 and couldn’t see getting another type of phone anytime soon.
